Jake Wright is the 2009 Steve Randall Memorial Award winner!
This year’s recipient was nominated not only for all the work he did to bring the SCCA Solo National Tour
to our Region and make it the success that it was, but also for the can-do attitude he brings to the
Region and the fun attitude he brings to each our events.
Competing
for the joy and fun if it; feelings of happiness with friends all around;
teachings that a second family, like the Sports Car Club of America, is worthy
of time and effort. That is how Steve Randall felt about our wonderful club.
Before
Steve’s early and saddening departure from us all, he had bestowed upon me and
many others that our weekend adventures are fun and sportsman like; a
comradeship like no others. We compete fairly, nicely, and still get along.
Our
region of the SCCA has honored him the best way we can with a yearly trophy.
The Steve Randall Memorial Trophy, since 1999, has honored those whom have given
what others think it takes to make a great region become even better, without
selfishness or after thought. Past recipients have been – Chuck De Moulin,
Soren Loree, Trish Kukowski, Steve Simonds, Wiggy Greacen, Spencer Smith and Jim
Garton. To those, congratulations and thanks.
